Description: Aoife is hard to describe. She is a slender girl, having a hard time filling out some of her clothes. She doesn't begrudge her body for lack of feminine curves. Her shoulders are slightly wider than her hips. Her legs are long and well toned and would be very attractive if it wasn't for her rather knobby knees. Her arms are long and lean. Her hands are very small and delicate, with very thin fingers accenting them. Despite their delicate appearance, her hands are calloused and rough and normally covered in paper cuts. Her complexion is a clear olive porcelain with a few freckles scattered here and there.

By all rights Aoife has more of a boyish figure, but to say she is indeed boyish looking wouldn't be fair. Her slender, oval face has sharper features. Her chin comes to a nicely rounded point, her cheek bones are low making her face smooth. The bridge of her nose is flat and the nose itself round and small. Her lips are fuller, but not pouty. Larger ears point our slight from the side of her head. Her black hair is long and straight. Aoife is beautiful if only from the sereneness and calmness she can exude.

Description: Aoife is a shy and quiet girl. She doesn't like to make a show of herself and tends to blend into the background instead of standing out. She hates confrontations and arguments. If she can avoid them, she will. Despite all that, Aoife has a honest soul. She's mature for age, knowing how to act during situations that call for a delicate touch. She never shies from responsibility and once a job is given to her she makes sure it gets done and done right. Aoife is meek, but she can be strong and willful if she needs to be. She doesn't like to be bossy and knows that occasionally she will have to be.


History: Aoife grew up in Haven Hold. Her parents were simple holders and worked the land for a living. Her parents had no other children besides her, but there was no room for coddling. Aoife wasn't spoiled and she was expected to behave like a proper lady. That's all she ever heard from her mother, 'Stop doing that, it's not lady like
, 'A lady doesn't behave in such a fashion', etc... Her father wasn't much better, but Aoife couldn't say her childhood was bad. Most of it was filled with reading and learning.

At the age of 20 her parents decided that the best choice for Aoife would be to marry her off to a fairly well established Holder of a smaller size hold. Aoife wasn't pleased by the idea, but didn't protest either. She didn't want to spend her life bearing children and being a Holders wife, she wanted to do something. She always wanted to go into healing, but her parents did not see crafting as a very lady-like occupation. As fate would have it, Aoife wouldn't get to do either of those things.

The rider's came on search to Haven. The blue dragon picked her as a likely candidate. Her parents weren't thrilled, but they had always been respectful to the weyr and allowed her to go. That hatching she did not impress, but since she was young enough still to impress they wanted her to stay. Weyr life was not what Aoife had expected it to be and some of the aspects bothered her some. A few of the other girls who were holdbred and didn't impress found life at the weyr more suitable to their more...salacious moods, but Aoife was not like them. This brought her some teasing from the other female candidates and more than once was she told she should just go home since she'd never make a rider of even a green.

The next hatching came around and honestly, no one thought she'd be the one to attract the gold dragon, Perlerith. Many a girl left the sand crying and claiming unfairness that the 'prude' impressed the gold. Nadine, the old Weyrwoman, just gave the girl a knowing smile. Since that day she was taught almost exclusively by Nadine. That is until the day she died. Now Aoife is left without her mentor and best friend. Being the only other goldrider, the leadership has fallen to her even though Perlerith has yet to rise. To say she is scared is an understatement. She doesn't yet have many friends in the weyr. With Perlerith close to rising she knows she must give up some of her holder notions that were forever burned into her behavior. The future is a subject she is slight nervous of, but she believes she will be ready to face it when it comes.

Personality: Perlerith is a nice counterpoint to her rider. She's rather boisterous and isn't afraid to speak to anyone she deems worthy to speak to. On top of being a talker, she's also isn't afraid to speak her mind when she feels the occasion calls for it. Perlerith knows the position of authority she holds in the weyr and she isn't afraid to use it. Thanks to this trait she gives courage to Aoife when she needs to be stronger and more...assertive. She can also be quite the mother hen when she wants to be.
Description: Perlerith is a beautifully proportioned dragon, tail's isn't too long and neck isn't too short. She's lost all her hatchling weight and the outcome was a sleek and gorgeous queen. She doesn't beat her dam in size, but she isn't a small dragon by any means, reaching 39 feet long. Her hide is a bright gold color with only her wing membranes being a lighter color.
